LaJuannah Hills

LaJuannah Hills is a dedicated social services leader with more than 30 years of experience empowering communities and advocating for vulnerable populations. Her career began with 21 impactful years with Department of Children and Family Services at Child Protective Services across Solano, Yolo, and Sacramento Counties, where she championed the safety, stability, and well-being of children and families. She then advanced to the California Department of Social Services, where for eight years she oversaw Community Care Licensing and the Independent Adoptions Program shaping state legislation and driving policies that created lasting change for families.

Prior to her current role, LaJuannah served as Divisional Social Services Director for the Southern California Division of The Salvation Army. In this role, she led a broad portfolio of programs including Family Services, Homeless Services, and Youth Programs. Her mission included expanding resources, fostering collaboration, and ensuring holistic support for individuals and families in need. Most recently, LaJuannah joined, LA County Board of Supervisors, Office of Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell as Sr. Deputy of Child Welfare and Human Services. Throughout her career, she has been guided by her commitment to equity, innovation, and building strong communities where children and families can thrive.
