Internships

Overview

Over the years, Children’s Defense Fund has welcomed hundreds of college students and recent graduates to serve as interns and join our work toward building communities where young people grow up with dignity, hope, and joy.

We offer internships in four core areas:

  1. Policy and Research
  2. Programs
  3. Communications
  4. Fundraising and Marketing

Our interns gain an insider’s view of the role of public interest groups in the policy process and enjoy unparalleled access to practitioners, experts, and leaders in child advocacy. As an intern at CDF, you’ll get the critical knowledge, skills, and experience you need to pursue an active life of leadership and service.

CDF Fellowships

CDF happily considers requests to host individuals for fellowships, where the projects align with our areas of expertise and the fellow can identify their own outside source of funding. This includes current law students from any ABA-accredited law school seeking a postgraduate fellowship that is partially or fully funded by an external source, such as a Skadden fellowship, Equal Justice Works, Justice Catalyst, Soros, or a program funded by your school.
