CDF-NY Racial Equity
Racial Ethnic Impact Statement
CDF-NY leads a Racial Ethnic Impact Statement Workgroup, comprising New York State advocates, with the goal of assessing New York City and State legislative proposals for any potential racially disparate impacts on communities of color and immigrants, with a focus on children. This initiative involves distributing surveys and conducting community conversations to gain insights on public benefit access and current policy impacts. We are advocating to enact Bill S3992/A06352, which relates to racial and ethnic impact statement on bills.
One out of 9 New Yorkers live in a mixed-status household, and 1 out of 6 children in New York City live in mixed-status households. CDF-NY is proud to be an active partner in the advocacy for the New York for All Act, which will protect immigrant New Yorkers, preserve resources for our communities, and ensure that those resources cannot be used to carry out a politicized and unfair immigration agenda.
