This winter, we are pleased to introduce Alex Wright to the CDF-Ohio team. Alex is an intern from the Ohio State University and will be working with the policy team supporting our children’s health initiatives and the organization’s communications efforts. Here’s a little bit more about Alex and her interests in making a difference for children.
Hometown: Hudson, OH
University: The Ohio State University
Major(s): Public Health, Sociology Specialization
Extra-curricular activities/Leadership/Honors: I am a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority at Ohio State. I also was a part of the Ohio State Women’s Soccer team. I have been awarded Dean’s list every semester for my academic performance.
What inspires you to serve?: Throughout high school and into college I volunteered at many non-profit organizations and this spurred my passion for addressing injustices in our society, specifically relating to affordable care, safety, and education.
What is the change you want to see in the world?: I envision a society where basic human rights are afforded to all, regardless of race, class, gender, or ability.
In five years, I see myself… graduating from law school and pursuing a career in Public Policy.
