Elisa is the Director of Economic Security and Senior Fellow in Policy History at the Center for the Study of Social Policy. She leads research and analysis on cash assistance, paid leave, child care, and other caregiving and family supports that promote the economic security of children, youth, and families and advance racial justice. She is a recognized expert on the roots of existing racial and economic inequities and works in close partnership with parents and other caregivers to design and advance policies that effectively and equitably promote economic well-being. She holds a Ph.D. in History from Harvard University.
