CDF Joy on the Vineyard – Children’s Forum

Children’s Forum
August 8, 2026
Children are the ways that the world begins again and again.
June Jordan, in “The Creative Spirit: Children’s Literature”
The Vineyard has always been a place where important conversations happen. On Saturday, August 8, Children’s Defense Fund and the Schott Foundation for Public Education invite you to be part of one of them.
Black children in America are growing up in a time of compounding pressures. Attacks on public education, the rollback of hard-won protections, rising economic hardship, and the ongoing assault on the very idea of equity. These are the daily conditions shaping the lives of children who deserve so much better. And they are precisely why we gather.
The Forum will center the well-being of Black children — examining the challenges they face, elevating the solutions already at work in our communities, and galvanizing the leaders, advocates, and families in the room to act with renewed purpose.
CDF has spent more than 50 years translating the urgency of children’s lives into policy, advocacy, and action. The Schott Foundation has spent decades advancing high-quality, culturally responsive public education for every child. Together, we bring that work into the room with you — because the work of beginning again, for children, cannot wait.
Please register and join us for the conversation.
