As a little girl growing up in Bennettsville, South Carolina, CDF President Marian Wright Edelman loved to read, but because of segregation she was not welcomed in her hometown's public library. This Sunday, supporters, colleagues, friends and family of Mrs. Edelman will gather in her hometown to take part in the opening of the Marian Wright Edelman Public Library. The sign at the entrance reads, “WELCOME TO EVERYONE.” This event is free to everyone!
