CDF is honored to join the National Cathedral for the National Observance of Children's Sabbath, calling for an end to the violence and poverty that takes lives on a daily basis in our homes, workplaces and city streets. The statistics for children in particular are grave. A child or teen is killed or injured by guns every 30 minutes in our nation, and guns are the second leading cause of death among children and teens ages 1-19; only motor vehicle accidents kill more children and teens every year.
10/18/13 - 10/20/13
The National Observance of Children's Sabbaths weekend unites thousands of religious communities across the nation in celebrating our children. This annual, multi-faith holiday provides the opportunity for communities of faith to strengthen existing efforts for children, discover new opportunities, and respond to the Divine mandate to nurture, protect, and advocate for all children.
