Urgent: Call your Senator TODAY

Keep the Pressure On! Thanks to all the calls, tweets, emails and resistance, Senate Republican Leadership postponed action on their health care bill until after the July 4th recess. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell did not have the votes needed to even move forward on the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA), let alone pass it. But Republican leaders still plan to hold a vote after the recess, so the fight to protect Medicaid and keep kids covered isn’t over yet! We must continue to keep the pressure on and remind the Senate just how devastating the BCRA would be for children and families. The BCRA would rip away health coverage from 22 million Americans and leave millions paying more for less. It would end Medicaid as we know it and restrict health coverage for children and adults with pre-existing conditions — all to pay for a giant tax cut for the wealthiest Americans and corporations. Thirty-seven million children rely on Medicaid, including 40 percent of all children with special health care needs, and more than 40 percent of all births are covered by Medicaid. They would all be harmed by the radical changes in the BCRA.

While your Senators are back home for the July 4th recess, keep the pressure on them! Tell them the BCRA cannot be fixed and urge them to step up to #ProtectMedicaid and #KeepKidsCovered!

Tell your Senators not to move backwards and undermine the critical health care safety net or do away with the ACA’s protections for people with pre-existing conditions, the guarantee of a basic set of essential health benefits — like maternity coverage, mental health coverage and prescription drugs, or the prohibition of discrimination based on age, gender or health status.

Please call today and tell your Senators the BCRA cannot be fixed and urge them to step up to #ProtectMedicaid and #KeepKidsCovered! Thank you if you have called before. We need you to call again and get others to call too!
