"Organizers engage people in articulating why they should act as a shared story of the challenges they face, why they – and others – must act to face those challenges, and where the hope is." ~ Marshall Ganz

Effective organizing is based on two main principles: intentional relationships and the building of power. Intentional relationships identify people’s self-interest, which we can harness to build power. Power is the ability to act or to do. Built right, it has the potential to multiply and change the course of history.
