Suggested Ideas for Interested Donors

Over a Six-Week Program

$100 will provide one of the following:

  • Books and instructional materials for one (1) child, including books for children to take home OR
  • Instructional materials for four (4) children

$200 will provide one of the following:

  • Books and instructional materials for two (2) children, including books for children to take home OR
  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for one (1) child OR
  • Instructional materials for eight (8) children

$300 will provide one of the following:

  • Books and instructional materials for three (3) children, including books for children to take home OR
  • Instructional materials for 12 children

$400 will provide one of the following:

  • Instructional materials for 16 children OR
  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for two (2) children OR
  • Books and instructional materials for four (4) children, including books for children to take home

$500 will provide one of the following:

  • Books and instructional materials for five (5) children, including books for children to take home OR
  • Instructional materials for 20 children

$1,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Sponsor a servant leader intern (CDF Freedom Schoolsteacher) for an intensive week training for at historic CDF Haley Farm OR
  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for five (5) children OR
  • Books and instructional materials for ten (10) children, including books for children to take home

$2,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for ten (10) children OR
  • Intensive week training for two (2) servant leader interns (CDF Freedom Schoolsteachers) at historic CDF Haley Farm OR
  • Books and instructional materials each for 20 children, including books for children to take home

$3,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for 15 children OR
  • Books and instructional materials each for 30 children, including books for children to take home OR
  • Sponsor one (1) servant leader intern (CDF Freedom School teacher) stipend

$5,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for 25 children OR
  • Instructional support computers for site OR
  • Books and instructional materials for 50 children, including books to take home and a well-stocked permanent library for the site OR
  • Intensive week training for five (5) servant leader interns at historic CDF Haley Farm

$10,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Instructional materials for 100 children OR
  • Books and instructional materials for 100 children, including books for children to take home and a well-stocked permanent library for the site OR
  • Compensation for two mental health professionals and an art therapist at a site serving 100 children

$20,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Compensation for four (4) mental health professionals and two (2) art therapist at four (4) program sites serving 200 Gulf Region children OR
  • Sponsor five (5) servant leader interns to serve and mentor 50 children, which includes training, stipend and travel expenses OR
  • Books and instructional materials for 200 children, including books for children to take home and a well-stocked permanent library for the site

$30,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Nutritious hot meals and snacks for 150 children OR
  • Instructional materials for 300 children OR
  • Books and instructional materials for 300 children, including books for children to take home and a well-stocked permanent library for the site

$50,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Books and instructional materials for 500 children in ten (10) program sites, including books for children to take home and a well-stocked permanent library for the site OR
  • Sponsor six (6) servant leader interns (CDF Freedom Schoolsteachers) and one (1) Site Coordinator for an intensive week training at historic CDF Haley Farm
  • Equipment to support outreach and programming monitoring (LCD projectors, laptops for travel, printers, software, Internet access, etc.) for 30 Gulf Region CDF Freedom Schools program sites

$60,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Sponsor an entire 6-week CDF Freedom Schools program serving 50 children, including books and instructional materials, nutritious hot meals and snacks, training costs, and administration and staff costs including mental health professional and art therapist.

$100,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Sponsor an entire 6-week CDF Freedom Schools program serving 100 children, including books and instructional materials, nutritious hot meals and snacks, training costs, administration and staff costs, a mental health professional and an art therapist

$125,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Sponsor mental health therapists for 30 program sites serving 600 Katrina's children for the full 6-week program OR
  • Sponsor external evaluation for 1000 children and parents to measure the quality and effectiveness of the program, including technical assistance, on-site support, evaluation materials, and staff and administration OR
  • Sponsor two positions dedicated to support partners in New Orleans and the Gulf Region to ensure high quality programming at sites serving over 1,500 children (including on-site support, local training, and administrative and staff support)

$150,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Sponsor three positions dedicated to support partners in New Orleans and the Gulf Region to ensure high quality programming at sites serving over 1,500 children (including on-site support, local training, and administrative and staff support )
  • Sponsor evaluation of program impact and child outcomes for 1,000 children and a parent assistance coordinator to provide support, guidance and technical support for CDF Freedom Schools parents

$250,000 will provide one of the following:

  • Sponsor mental health therapists for 70 program sites serving over 3,500 children for the full 6-week program OR
  • Sponsor four staff positions to support our New Orleans and Gulf Region partners and the national CDF Freedom Schools office, including outreach, on-site support, technical assistance and training OR
  • Sponsor program evaluation and implementation for 30 program sites in New Orleans and the Gulf Region (including test materials, technical assistance, training, printing, transportation, etc.) serving 1,500 children

Support for CDF Freedom Schools Summer Programs

  • $23,100 can sponsor six (6) servant leader interns full cost to mentor 50 children including training, stipend and travel expenses at $3,850 each intern
  • $5,874 can sponsor five (5) children for the six week summer program including nutritious meals, books and instructional materials, books to take home per child, and staff and administrative support at $1,175 per child
