What: |
On Thursday, February 14, from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., the Children’s Defense Fund and One Million Moms for Gun Control will hold a “Have A Heart – Protect Children, Not Guns” press conference two months to the day following the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The child advocacy organization has partnered with the grassroots movement to call on all members of Congress to fast track common sense gun safety laws to protect children instead of guns as the gun violence epidemic in America takes the life of a child every three hours and fifteen minutes. Volunteers from One Million Moms for Gun Control and the Children’s Defense Fund will leave immediately following the press conference to deliver homemade valentines from moms and broken-hearted teddy bears with the message to protect children, not guns to members of Congress. |
