The Tennessean

September 10, 2013

Nashville’s Volunteer of the Month for September is Mr. Leroy Jones of Davidson County. Having served time, Jones is one person dedicated to making a positive difference throughout his community. His intention is simple: “No more victims. That means (no more) kids being sent to prison, as well as (no more) citizens being victimized by unruly, and criminal minded adolescents.” He has volunteered for Children’s Defense Fund, Reconciliation Inc., F.L.I.P/FiftyForward (Friends Learning In Pairs), Woodland Hills Youth Development, the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center at Vanderbilt University, Project Return, Inc., The City of Refuge and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services.
