President’s Speech Especially Poignant on the King Holiday

President Obama’s speech after the Tucson shootings earned plaudits for framing the nation’s aspirations through the eyes of a fallen child. “We see all of our children” in the slain 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green, he said. “So curious, so trusting, so energetic, so full of magic.” “I want America to be as good as she imagined it,” Mr. Obama concluded. “All of us — we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations.”
