Beat The Odds® Event

The Children’s Defense Fund Beat the Odds scholarship and leadership development program honors, celebrates, and rewards outstanding high school seniors who have overcome tremendous adversity to achieve academic excellence and demonstrated a commitment to giving back and making a difference in their community.

Each student awarded or recognized in Ohio will receive a $5,000 scholarship, a laptop computer, and an invitation to join CDF's leadership training programs—putting them on the path to college and successful adulthood. Beat the Odds celebrations are held annually across the country.
