Poverty and Family Income Internships
Current priorities include research on child poverty, family economic security, and economic policies that affect children's well-being. The ideal intern will have a strong interest on how poverty affects children and how federal and state policies help reduce child and family poverty.
Interns will:
- Perform research and literature reviews on child poverty and family income topics
- Use public databases and publications to find current data on child poverty and family income
- Attend conferences and hearings on related poverty and family income topics
- Provide other research as needed to the Policy Team's economist
This internship is ideal for students in the fields of:
- Public policy
- Economics
- Sociology
- Demography
Strong consideration will be given to graduate and upper-level undergraduate students with either academic background or professional experience in economics or public policy. Strong research background, analytical abilities, and good writing ability needed. Strong quantitative skills preferred.
