- Before applying, candidates are strongly encouraged to identify organizational and/or community support to provide funding for training registration and travel costs.
- A $275.00 five-day registration fee covers all meals, sessions, materials, airport and meeting shuttles, and hotel lodging (dual occupancy)*.
- Once notification of acceptance is received, registration costs must be submitted in full within one week of notification.
*Additional $50.00 is added to the registration cost for participants requesting single occupancy lodging. This option is not available for participants receiving scholarships.
Travel & Lodging
Scheduling
- Arrivals: Be prepared to arrive at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute on Monday, July 20, 2009, between 12:00-1:00 p.m. for onsite registration.
- Departures: Be prepared to depart the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute on Friday, July 24, 2009, following the Call to Action and Communion Service ending at 10:30 a.m.
- When scheduling flights into McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee, allow at least one hour from your flight arrival to arrival at CDF Haley Farm (this allows for shuttle schedule and boarding time). When scheduling departure flights, allow at least two hours from CDF Haley Farm until your flight's departure time (this includes shuttle schedule and the recommended hour for check-in.)
Travel Plans
- Participants are responsible for arranging their travel and providing all travel information to the Children’s Defense Fund no later than Monday, June 22, 2009.
- Book all flights to McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Driving directions will be provided to those arriving by ground transportation.
- Airport shuttle services are included in the registration costs.
Lodging
- All accommodations will be arranged through the Children's Defense Fund.
- The registration cost covers accommodations for dual occupancy. Those participants requesting single occupancy accommodations must include an additional $50.00 in their registration costs.
