Megan Lehrer

Megan Lehrer, originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, is a sophomore at The George Washington University in the University Honors Program, where she is double majoring in political science with a public policy focus and art history, with a minor in Judaic studies.  On campus, Megan is a member of a number of organizations, most notably Students for Education Reform and College Democrats. She is also a research assistant in the Art History department at GWU.  For several years, Megan has volunteered at a shelter for abused, neglected, and homeless children in South Phoenix, as well as with an organization that helps heal abused and homeless children through artistic expression.  After graduation, Megan hopes to enter a dual degree program to receive a JD and master’s in public policy.  This is Megan’s second semester as a Policy Research intern at CDF, and she is excited to continue gaining knowledge on and exposure to the effects of public policy on children, as well as to the problems facing many children that current policies are failing to adequately address.
