Lenee Washington

Lenee Washington was born in San Francisco and raised in Sacramento, California. She is a junior at the University of California, Los Angeles where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in education studies. Since beginning her career at UCLA, Lenee has been a member of Inter-Varsity Bruin Christian Fellowship which has changed her life for the better. She became interested in child advocacy through her work offering restorative justice alternatives to at-risk students as a peer mediation facilitator in Los Angeles. She has become increasingly interested in pursuing a career in education, and she envisions herself working with minority K-12 students in the future. A Policy Research Intern at CDF's National Office in Washington, D.C., Lenee is grateful to be part of the CDF family and for the opportunity to help dismantle the barriers that are set up against children.
