Non-Profit Administration Internships

The Children's Defense Fund is an organization deeply committed to our Leave No Child Behind mission and to ensure that every child has a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start and a Moral Start in life and successful passage into adulthood with caring families and communities. For 40 years, CDF has combined advocacy, public education, policy development, leadership training and other efforts to protect children and encourage preventive investment in children before they get sick, drop out of school, suffer family breakdown, or get into trouble.

Human resource interns will be involved with employee outreach and records maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Benefits package review and maintenance.
  • Organizing and updating electronic records, forms, and files.
  • Organizing and developing employee relations events.
  • May include general office support (including filing and shreading), clerical, and/or data-entry duties.

 Preferred Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • A high level of discretion is required.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of computers and basic office software packages.
  • Ability to work effectively alone or collectively.
  • Creativity and flexibility.
  • A commitment of a minimum of 15 hours per week is required.
