Joy Brenner-Letich

Joy Brenner-Letich, a native of Frederick, Maryland, is an incoming sophomore at Brandeis University majoring in education studies and Latin American studies. She is the founder and president of the Brandeis Education Reformers club. While gathering information for its listserv, Facebook group, and meetings, she kept using information from the Children’s Defense Fund, and realized how much she admired CDF’s work and loved its values. Last summer, she worked for Education Reform Now, speaking to parents in the projects of Brooklyn about voter registration and their children’s schools. This work helped her decide to be a community organizer, fighting to create public schools that meet the needs of parents, teachers, and students. This summer she is a Communications intern in CDF’s National Office in Washington, D.C.
