Claire Durst

Claire Durst, a Chevy Chase, Maryland native, is a rising junior at Drew University pursuing a sociology major with a focus on young children and early socialization, and an arts administration minor with a focus on the nonprofit sector. Throughout high school she volunteered heavily for groups like Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, which sparked her interest on how different life situations and upbringings can affect children’s social development. Although this is her first time with CDF, she grew up learning about child policy and is excited to be with an organization that advocates for all children. She plans to complete a graduate degree in sociology and learn how to effectively study and improve the lives of children. This summer, Claire is an intern in the office of Development in CDF’s National Office in Washington, D.C.
