Alia Roth

Alia Roth is a New Jersey native and rising senior at Connecticut College pursuing bachelor’s degrees in government, human development and public policy. On campus, Alia is the producer of The Vagina Monologues (VDAY), a Fellow at the Career Enhancing Life Skills office. She spent her sophomore year working as a Think Sexual Assault Free Environment (S.A.F.E.) intern. Past experiences include interning with Wynona’s House, a child advocacy agency for victims of physical and sexual abuse in Newark, New Jersey; interning with the New London Homeless Hospitality Center, where she has helped organize its annual fundraiser for two consecutive years; and serving as a Pre-K teacher for children with special needs for two summers. This past year, Alia spent a semester studying child welfare, diversity and multi-cultural education in Copenhagen, Denmark. Because she has a strong passion for children’s rights and public policy, and education and awareness for sexual assault and domestic violence, Alia hopes to pursue a graduate degree in public policy and social work, and continue working as an advocate for women and children. Alia is currently an intern with the Development department in CDF’s National Office in Washington, D.C.
