Valin Jordan

Valin Jordan

Upon completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Miami, Valin Jordan began working as an elementary special education teacher in East Harlem, NY through New York City Teaching Fellows. While teaching, Valin earned 2 masters degrees from CUNY Hunter College in Elementary Education and Special Education with a focus on learning disabilities. After finishing those degrees Valin decided to begin pursuing her masters of Social Work at Columbia University. She has recently been granted her tenure and will begin her 4th year of teaching in September 2011.

Valin is an intern in the Field Department where she is assisting with the Young Adult Leadership Training (YALT) Program. . YALT develops child advocacy knowledge and skills in young leaders, community organizers, and activists that can be implemented through their organizations, in their communities, and on college campuses.
