Micah Chervin

Micah Chervin

Micah Chervin will graduate this May from the University of Maryland with Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and Jewish studies. While participating in UMD's Federal Semester program, with a concentration in health policy, Micah learned under former Assistant U.S. Surgeon General Woodie Kessel. Through the program, Micah joined the Education Department of the Children's Defense Fund, working on projects related to the factors contributing to high school graduation and dropout rates. Micah spent much of his time at CDF focused on America's "dropout factories" and analyzing the latest findings on high schools that regularly do not graduate students on time. After graduation in May, he will be joining Teach for America and teaching secondary biology in theWashington, D.C., area.
