Lisa Coleman

After graduating from University of Missouri-Columbia, Lisa was a Teach for America high school teacher in Charlotte, N.C. Lisa is currently a third year law student at the American University Washington College of Law.

Lisa is interning in the Juvenile Justice section where she is researching promising approaches to juvenile justice reform. These include the provision of educational services within juvenile facilities, gang intervention, strength-based gendered responses, and strategies to decrease disproportionate minority contact. Upon graduating from law school, Lisa intends to continue advocating for juvenile justice reforms on behalf of vulnerable and minority youth.
