Iman is an intern with the Office of the President at the Children’s Defense Fund and a social work major at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. She also volunteers as a court appointed special advocate in Baltimore—a program that helps foster care children navigate successfully through the city’s court system.
During her internship at CDF, she has been working on preparing data for the next Black Community Crusade for Children event, and has worked on various census-related projects for the Child Welfare department.
Her areas of interest are varied: from juvenile delinquency and mental health to education reform. She hopes to obtain a master’s degree in social work and Ph.D. on how social workers can serve youth communities on a larger scale.
