Edika Onubah

Edika Onubah is a senior speech language pathology and audiology major earning a Bachelor of Science degree at Howard University. Edika has discovered that teaching is a life passion; especially to the service of underserved and non-traditional students. Her interest was peaked when she studied theoretical perspectives regarding the ethnography of language; including race, class, gender and the intersections, stratification, inequality, social change and language. Edika is committed to closing the achievement gap in America. She has been offered two positions to teach elementary special education.

Edika is an intern in the Youth Development and Leadership Department at the Children’s Defense Fund national headquarters. She has had the privilege to participate in the historic 10-10-10 March for Children and Youth in Minnesota. Edika is currently working towards the development of a national YALT Alumni Network to keep young leaders connected to CDF.
