Leah Seifu is a rising senior at Harvard, where she is studying Human Evolutionary Biology with a secondary field in Health Policy and a citation in Spanish. She is originally from Silver Spring, Maryland.
At school, Leah is involved in CityStep, a group that mentors Cambridge middle school students through dance, and Project Health, a group that works with Boston Medical Center to connect patients to resources such as housing and food. She is also a peer adviser and dances with two of Harvard’s student dance groups.
Leah's main interests are with children, medicine, and health policy, so the internship with CDF’s child Health Policy Department has been great in combining the three. She plans to pursue a career in medicine as well as health policy.
During her internship she has been helping to prepare materials for a healthcare enrollment drive the CDF is holding with CDF Freedom Schools® programs around the country this July, as well as writing child health fact sheets for the website and attending meetings throughout DC about various child health policy issues.
